Being too small is enough to make a difference

We used to hear say, every now and often, " Nothing will happen, if I do it alone " or " I was not getting noticed when I do this, so I stopped doing it ." or " My contribution is not going to change the world "...etc. For those, here is an AFRICAN SAYING " If you think you are too small to make a difference, try spending the night in a closed room with a mosquito ." I come across this quote in one of the mail signatures.  It is really a killer quote.

I received a mail from Child Rights and You(CRY) thanking the contribution of my penny and describing the activities of FY 2010-2011. I am so happy to see the activities like Infants have been immunized ICDS (anganwadi) centres opened New Primary Health Centres and Sub-health centres opened Enrolled school dropouts Prevented Child labour prevention, Child Marriages & Government schools from closing down..... Still thousands are deprived from getting the basic amneties. God provided all to us; this is not only for us, but also for society.  You don't need to contribute 1000 or 2000 bucks, but whatever you can. Even a single penny may change the world. Let us be the part of the community which changes the world. www.cry.org

Immerse in Nature

Image
The days keep going. Electronics occupied every corner and everyone's life. Do everyone go out and enjoy the nature?  How many of you are still enjoying this world? Would you be able to create a history with half energy in your body and mind?  How many days did you fulfill your mind? How many days did you work with full energy? Do self check.  If it is decreasing, it is a time to take a break and immerse in nature. How many of you do feel Breeze with drizzles on face,  walk with sticking beach sand on Wet foot, wait for long in water bodies for fishing, feel a sand aroma when started drizzling, a walk on the forest..... Do whatever you want to do with the nature.  That will return twice the amount of energy for your body and soul in return. Mt Rainier, WA, USA

The power of words.

Image
Some people would have excelled in their field; the king, musician, architect, scientist, poet, alpinist ...  Only a handful of people ruled the world and everyone knows about them.  How many of us know Alexander, Beethoven, Neil Armstrong, Albert Einstein, Shakespeare, and George Mallory....?  If you ask rich or poor, literate or illiterate, upper class or middle class....., some of them say yes and some of them no. But everyone knows Gandhi, Teresa and Nelson Mandela. If you look at what made them to this level, it is none other than their WORDS. How did their words get so much power? Gandhi anchored his thoughts with ahimsa. Teresa served the community with love.  Nelson Mandela, it is obvious ahimsa. This has attracted all communities and disciplined them. They did not have money, land and braveness, but the power of words influenced everyone. Of course, the world accepted them and was ready to follow them. How can you influence your kids in home?  Let t...

One day in a bus

Image
I use the King County Metro bus for commute to work. I use three buses to reach the workplace and back to home. Some of the operators keep changing in some routes and some of them are regular. I used to greet the operator (driver) while getting in and thank him while getting off.  Some of the drivers greet in response and some of them not. I used to see a operator, who is regular in a particular route will not give attention to the greetings and thanks.  The days keep going.  After a month or two, he just started to nod for the greetings and thanks. Then he stated whispering thanks while getting off. The days keep going.  One day he greeted me before I greet him.   I got surprised.  It is nothing but the environment we create.  I always greeted him without expecting anything.  This created the positive environment.    I remember the positive environment created by "All is well" in '3-Idiots' Hindi movie.  Everything is ...
